Suspected of creating a financial pyramid extradited from Georgia

Nur-Sultan, June 27, 2019. Today, employees of the General Prosecutor's Office and Interpol of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan have extradited Bakyt Zhumabayev from Georgia, who was wanted by the investigative department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs on suspicion of creating a financial pyramid.

According to the investigation, in 2016-2017, in the group with other persons, Zhumabayev, being the manager of UNNNITY corporation, organized criminal activities in order to obtain illegal income by attracting citizens to the company, and then redistribute some participants at the expense of contributions from others. The total damage from criminal activities exceeded 160 million tenge.

After the crime was committed, the suspect disappeared from the criminal investigating authority, and therefore was put on an international wanted list and subsequently detained in Georgia.

Currently, Zhumabayev is placed in the detention facility of the city of Nur-Sultan.
