Nur-Sultan, June 13, 2019. Today at a briefing in the Central Communications Service, representatives of the General Prosecutor’s Office and the Ministry of the Interior spoke about the state of law and order in the country.

In his speech, Saparbek Nurpeisov, head of the General Prosecution Service, said that despite repeated warnings from the prosecutor's office, individuals, who had succumbed to the provocations, went to rallies and began to attack the law enforcement officers. As a result, three police officers were injured. At the same time, in response to these actions, the police did not use special means.

The speaker noted that in order to protect the tranquility of citizens, malicious violators were taken to police departments.

For participation in illegal actions, failure to comply with the legal demands of police officers, the court administratively punished 957 persons, of whom 670 were arrested, 115 were fined, 172 were warned.

It will be recalled that on June 12 this year the Head of State instructed the General Prosecutor to immediately take measures to ensure the legal rights of citizens.

 “It is necessary to establish the exact number of detainees and the degree of their guilt. Innocent citizens and those who accidentally are in protest places should be released, ” Kasym-Zhomart Tokayev stressed.

In this regard, within the framework of the supervisory powers, prosecutors in respect of 311 persons appealed in the courts to reduce the time of their arrest, which are satisfied. Detainees released.

As of today, 180 citizens remain in special detention facilities.
