September 19, 2018 Today, General Prosecutor of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Kozhamzharov during his visit to Dushanbe (Republic of Tajikistan) held bilateral meetings with the Prosecutors General of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Sheikh Saud ibn Abdullah Al-Muadjab, the People's Republic of China - Zhang Jun, Kyrgyzstan - Otkurbek Djamshitov, Tajikistan - Yusuf Rahmon, Uzbekistan - Otarbek Murodov.
The heads of the supervisory agencies discussed issues of international cooperation, including the extradition of criminals, the provision of legal assistance in criminal matters, the transfer of convicted persons and other topical issues of cooperation.
In addition, they signed a program of cooperation between the General Prosecutor’s Offices of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan for 2019-2020.
K. Kozhamzharov informed his foreign colleagues about reforms in the criminal process in Kazakhstan, measures taken to reduce the prison population and further humanization of criminal legislation, and also assured readiness for expanding and deepening bilateral relations.
As a result of the meetings, the parties agreed to take active measures to exchange experience and continue constructive interaction.
