December 5, 2018, Astana. Today, the Prosecutor General of the Republic of Kazakhstan Kairat Kozhamzharov had a bilateral meeting of with Deputy Prosecutor General of Mongolia Erdenebat Ganbat.
The heads of supervisory agencies discussed issues of combating transnational crime, extremism and terrorism.
It was noted that bilateral agreements on extradition and legal assistance in criminal cases and on the transfer of convicted persons are being implemented quite effectively between the countries.
To date, 5 Mongolian citizens are serving their sentences in correctional institutions of Kazakhstan.
"After the signing of the agreement on the transfer of convicts on March 29, we have a full international legal framework between our countries in the fight against crime", K. Kozhamzharov emphasized.
Erdenebat Ganbat thanked Kairat Kozhmazharov for the constructive cooperation and the opportunity to discuss the issues of further expansion of relations in the legal sphere. He also assured his Kazakhstani counterpart of his readiness to continue a mutual beneficial dialogue.
We recall that within the framework of participation of representatives of supervisory agencies of foreign countries in the international conference "Strengthening of interregional cooperation and coordination of efforts in the fight against organized crime" in Astana, the Prosecutor General of Kazakhstan K. Kozhamzharov held a number of bilateral meetings.
