With regard to the case against the Deputy Prosecutor of Astrakhan district, A. Mukushev
On November 15, the district court of Astana city held judgment of conviction against former Deputy Prosecutor of Astrakhan district, Ardak Mukushev. The court found him guilty of bribery in the amount of one million tenge (Art.366, Part 2 of the Criminal Code) and sentenced to a fine of 59.5 million tenge (fifty-nine and a half million tenge). Alongside with it, the court decided to confiscate the property and deprive of the right to hold any post in public office and in law enforcement authorities for life. Moreover, he was divested of class rank – Junior Counselor of Justice.
It is to be recalled that on October 18, Internal Security Service took Mukushev in the mainour when he was taking a bribe from a citizen “M” for non-lodging a protest in her criminal case. Earlier, according to the court verdict dated August 15 of this year, “M” was given a suspended sentence for stealing of entrusted property for 7 years imprisonment.
Special Prosecutor of Prosecutor General’s Office completed the investigation in an accelerated manner in accordance with the requirements of the Criminal Procedure Code, since the suspect fully admitted his fault and agreed with the size of the damage.
With regard to the case about the murder of three brothers in Almaty Oblast (region)
The case of the murder of three farmer brothers in Almaty Oblast (region) was sent by the Prosecutor’s Office of Almaty city to the court. Also the suspects are charged with seizure of property of the victims in the amount of 41 (forty-one) heads of cattle, illegal possession of weapon, destruction of property and theft of victims’ cars.
The event took place on September 18 this year on the outskirts of the village Kastek in the valley Sulu Sai of Zhambyl district in Almaty Oblast (region). The suspects Suleymanov and Onalbayev under the pretence of buying the livestock fraudulently brought the victims to a deserted place where they murdered the brothers with a firearm. After, they buried the bodies near the village Kanshengel in the same district.
Moreover, for non-reporting of such very serious crime - the murder of three individuals, B. Baikassymov was committed for trial.
The supervision for pre-trial investigation was carried out by two (2) procedural prosecutors who will also hold public prosecution in the court.
Extradition of a citizen of Kazakhstan from Bulgaria
On November 17, officials of Prosecutor General’s Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Bulgaria extradited a citizen of Kazakhstan, who was internationally wanted.
A 42-year-old K. was wanted by the Department of Internal Affairs of Almaty city for repeated commission of fraud on an especially large scale.
Over the period from 2007 to 2010, by previous concert and by abuse of trust fraudulently under the pretence of car delivery services from the
USA, K. gained possession of the money of credulous citizens in the amount of about 26 mln (twenty-six million) tenge.
Currently, the accused is housed at the detention center of Astana city.
About the workshop
The Academy of law enforcement agencies of the Prosecutor General’s Office with the support of the OSCE Program Office held in Astana 4-day courses for law enforcement personnel responsible for cooperation with the media.
The seminar was attended by over 20 participants from the prosecution, the National Anti-Corruption Bureau and the State Revenue Committee.
The coaches involved were qualified national experts in the field of public relations.
The well-known TV journalist Pauline Shimanskaya shared with the audience with the secrets of effective work of the modern press service. The speech of a business coach, Director of HR-praktice Kazakhstan, Regina Larioshina about the fundamentals of communication was of no less interest.
The trainees solidified theoretical knowledge and skills in practical classes by solving case problems.
Upon completion of the workshop all participants received certificates.
About sports events
On November 16, Prosecutor General’s office launched the first stage of General Prosecutor Cup Championship between prosecution authorities on on mini-football and volleyball.
Sporting events coincide with the celebration of the 25th anniversary of Independence Day and the Prosecutor’s Day.
Earlier, based on the previous group matches 20 teams passed to the final stage of mini-football and volleyball championship.
The sporting competitions will be held from 15 to 18 November 2016.
The ceremony of awarding the winners will take place at the ceremonial meeting dedicated to the professional holiday.
